JEDDAH, 25 January 2004 — Jeddah Municipality has approved a SR500 million budget this year for development projects, Eqtisadiah reported.
Abdullah Al-Mualami, mayor of Jeddah, said that this year the municipality would finish development projects in the city which were begun in 2002.
Some of these projects are the tunnel at the intersection of Al-Amal and Madinah Road which cost SR30 million, a tunnel at the intersection of Al-Rabie and Al-Haramain at a cost of SR40 million, the intersection of Prince Abdullah and Hail Street at a cost of SR30 million and other projects to improve major intersections at a cost of SR50 million.
