BURAIDAH, 25 January 2004 — The total cost of new projects approved by the general administration for water in the Qasim area is more than SR400 million.

This amount is for distribution between cities and provinces in the area, Madinah reported.

The General Director of Water in Qasim, Abdul Kareem Al-Fuzan, said that these projects included establishing a new water purification plant north of Buraidah for SR80 million.

The plant will supply the north with safe drinking water. A new water purification plant will be established in Al-Asyah for SR80 million.

This includes new project to improve the performance of two water plants in Unaizah and Al-Rass at a cost of SR60 million. New water and sewage networks in cities of the area are estimated to cost some SR180 million.
