JEDDAH, 5 February 2004 — Plans are under way to employ more Saudi women in government departments, especially in the health, education, higher education and interior ministries, Al-Yaum reported yesterday quoting an official source at the Ministry of Civil Service. The paper said some 20,000 women would be employed under the plan. The source also emphasized the need to create more job opportunities for Saudi women in the private sector.
