JEDDAH, 11 February 2004 — A silver covered book with 25th Jubilee Edition in large friendly letters was launched recently. The Gulf Directory, an old friend to many businesses in the Gulf region, has been expanded to cover Egypt and Turkey and now has 120,774 entries, it tells you with commendable precision.

The directory has complete listings of businesses in Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, UAE, Iran, Turkey and Egypt. As this vibrant and useful volume has tracked the development of business in the Gulf region since 1979, it will almost certainly include Iraq in the very near future.

The book is divided into four sections, Information, Country Profile, Blue Pages (the Alphabetical Index) and the White Pages (Classified Index.)

The information section provides all the dialing codes and the commercial contact information businesses need either on first entry to a country or to find services in their own. The addresses of chambers of commerce, stock exchanges and the institutions are easily accessed.

The Alphabetical and Classified indices are as wide-ranging and useful as any business needs. The former is divided into countries with sub-alphabet index. The Classifieds are much the same. Products are classified in main headings and then sub-divided into country areas.

Copies of the directory reach Arab embassies and chambers worldwide — an inducement to advertisers and a very useful source of reference to businessmen wishing to trade with the Gulf region.
