RIYADH, 14 February 2004 — A three-day conference to explore the executive regulations of the general environmental law, which was passed recently by the government, will start here on Feb. 28.

Organized by Kaid Al-Injaz Environment Services Company in association with the Presidency of Meteorology and Environment Protection, the conference will be held at the Cultural Palace in the Diplomatic Quarter.

Prince Turki ibn Nasser, head of the presidency will open the conference, which aims at explaining the law’s executive regulations — including types of violations and fines — as well as emphasizing the law’s benefits in terms of protecting environment.

There will be a keynote presentation of Egypt’s experience in implementing executive regulations related to environment.

Experts from the presidency will also hold a number of workshops on the conference’s sidelines.
