RIYADH, 18 February 2004 — A technical hitch has delayed the launch of the new “swipe card” driving licenses, due to be issued from yesterday in the Riyadh region.
The director of Traffic Department Col. Fahd Al-Bishr said the launch had to be postponed because of problems with the computer system, which “required attention.” Otherwise, he said, his department was fully prepared for the launch.
