KUWAIT CITY, 19 February 2004 — An Indian domestic worker tried to kill herself along with two children of her Kuwaiti employer by leaping off a building with the toddlers in her arms, newspapers reported yesterday.
Calling it an act of revenge on the Kuwaiti employer following problems between the two, Al-Watan newspaper said the domestic worker bundled up the two girls, aged three and one-and-a half years, and took them onto the roof of the building in which she worked. The maid then leaped from the three-story building with the girls in her arms.
All three survived the fall and were taken to the hospital with extensive injuries, said the papers.
Police are investigating the case and the maid will be charged with attempted murder, wrote Al-Anba newspaper.
