MADINAH, 20 February 2004 — Two of the nine suspects arrested for the sexual violation and decapitation of a ten-year-old boy here have confessed to the crime, police sources reported. The pair has admitted to cutting off the boy’s head and disposing of the two body parts in different locations. Although the two suspects have told police where they dumped the head, there has been no luck in finding it. The police have increased their search efforts.
The two suspects told police how they seduced the boy and took him to an isolated area where they raped him. They then cut off his head and dumped it in the Erwa Valley to make the identification of the body more difficult. The two, 16 and 17 years old, are from the same neighborhood and were known to police as troublemakers. Both had been arrested previously.
Their confession came after days of interrogation. According to police, both regretted the crime and were crying throughout the interrogation. Police have not determined whether there were others involved in the rape and murder.
Sources told Madinah newspaper that permission to bury the body would be given soon.
The body is still in the King Fahd Hospital morgue. The search operation by divers would continue until they found the head, the Civil Defense said.
