JEDDAH, 20 February 2004 — NPS team keglers dished out 50 points to grab the leading position in the 16th week (2nd round) of the 15th Inter-Commercial Family Bowling League being played at the Jeddah Lanes Bowling Center.
The Filipino Tenpin Bowlers of Jeddah (FTBJ) organizes the league. Bonnie Garcia, Romy Vargas, Emil Payongayong, Beth Concepcion and Charrie Cruz sparkled for the NPS team keglers.
Garcia toppled 574 series scratch in three games while Vargas rolled 552. The tandem of Payongayong and Beth Concepcion scored an identical three game series scratch of 544. Charrie Cruz posted a three game series scratch of 505. The NPS squad tallied total team series handicap of 3,004.
The defending champion, Cee Bee Aviation Co. team scored 37.5 points through Nap Patayan, Aiza Silabay and Susan Patayan. Nap led by posting a series of 567 scratch while Aiza and Susan submitted separate series of 545 and 541 while Wilson Triguero and Lindo Villanueva scored 494 and 487. Cee Bee collected total team series handicap of 2,856 points. Previous league leaders, Sunsilk Shampoo sealed 37 points with Danny Bautista, Andy Erena and Jun Lasaga carding separate series of 550, 535 and 508.
Fatima Jintarat and Puri Parena scored a series of 498 and 489. Sunsilk Shampoo registered 2,799 pinfalls.
Jess Pineda and Mao Orolfo powered Al-Zamil Heavy Industries to 34 points. Pineda and Orolfo downed separate series scratch of 589 and 570 in three matches. Linda Escondo, Darwin Tumandao and Jessica Fuentes rolled a series of 448, 435 and 426. Al-Zamil Heavy Industries quintet compiled 2,768.
Louie “Milan” Bautista and Joey Salvador led Al-Nafie Steel Company bowling team. Bautista and Salvador fired three-game series scratch of 547 and 511. Nanding Siasoco, Tess Marasigan and Grace Siasoco contributed separate series of 498, 483 and 368. Al-Nafie had an overall team output of 2,767 points. Malaysian Airlines team got 26.5 points with Sammy Ocampo with 538 points. Roger Daquioag and Obie Ycasas shot a separate series of 531 and 503 in three games while Vangie Lim and Grace Dasas scored a series of 428 and 377. Malaysian Airlines had an output of 2,713 points.
