JEDDAH, 23 February 2004 — Al-Ittihad Club’s former president Adnan Jamjoom died of a heart attack here yesterday. He was 61 years old.

Jamjoom suffered a sudden cardiac arrest yesterday morning while recuperating at Erfan and Bagedo Hospital here after a routine disc operation. He was to be released from the hospital yesterday.

Jamjoom, a surgeon, was an avid soccer fan. His keen interest and organization skills helped Ittihad stay among the premier teams in the Kingdom.

He was elected president of the Ittihad club in 1409H and 1414H and was made an honorary member of the club on 1423H.

Born in 1366H in Jeddah he graduated from the Al-Falah School before turning to a career in medicine. He was the manager of health affairs in Jeddah and also a lecturer at King Abdul Aziz University.

A popular president of the club, Jamjoom is survived by three sons and three daughters.
