HP continues to dominate in the Middle East UNIX server market, according to the latest IDC results released for third quarter of 2003. At more than three times its nearest rival, HP’s share of the United Arab Emirates UNIX market was impressive, ringing in at 64 percent. Also robustly positioned was the rest of the Middle East region’s HP UNIX market share at 44 percent, outpacing the nearest rival by a 16 percent margin.
Overall in Europe, Middle East and Africa, HP grew its UNIX server market share both sequentially and year on year at 0.5 and 6.2 percentage points respectively. This increase positions HP as the No. 1 vendor in the EMEA UNIX market.
