RIYADH, 2 March 2004 — Sources at the Interior Ministry told Al-Watan that the ministry was working on a satellite communication project to provide alternatives in case of computer failures at land, sea and air borders. Sources said, “The national information center which is a part of the Interior Ministry is working on an alternative network in case the main computer network fails to allow work to continue non-stop for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.”
