WASHINGTON, 5 March 2004 - The Saudi ambassador to the United States, Prince Bandar ibn Sultan, has said the royal decree to establish the Saudi National Commission for Relief and Charity Work abroad is to ensure that terrorist organizations do not misuse Saudi donations for humanitarian projects worldwide.

In a statement issued by the Saudi Embassy in Washington he said Saudi Arabia wants to provide food, medicine and shelter to those in need but needs to be sure the money goes where intended.
