NAIROBI, 8 March 2004 — Neighbors of a 52-year-old Kenyan man who had not bathed in 10 years pounced on the man, undressed him, and forcefully washed him. Daily Kenya Times stated that neighbors had been disturbed by his stench so they tied him up then washed him in front of everyone. It took 4 continuous hours to clean him up and sand had to be used to remove the stubborn dirt layer that had accumulated on his skin over the years. The man was not untied until he promised to bathe once a day.
