RIYADH, 12 March 2004 — Saudi Tornado blazed to its second straight Team of the Week honors after beating Unlimited VI during the 10th session of the NAK Park USA Sunday Night Bowling League 8th Conference at the Riyadh Bowling Club lanes here.

Saudi Tornado rolled 4,221 pinfalls for 24 total points against a hapless Unlimited VI which returned 17 points and 4,016 pinfalls. Two other teams matched Tornado’s points total.

Rampant leader D’Marvelous cut D’ Invaders down to size 24-17 (4,150-4,101), while HTG-Margie trounced Okey Lang 24-11 (4,116-3,845).

Jadawel Bowling Club edged on-and-off defending champion Al Mishari Pinbusters 17-16 (3,958-3,908) and Blue Blood pipped Schneider Electric 17-15 (3,914-3,871).

Freddie Santiago of D’Marvelous won the individual race for Bowler of the Week after compiling the high series of 911 on lines of 224, 195, 247, 185 and 60 handicap.

The next two places in the individual standings at 884 and 881 were occupied by Unlimited VI’s Ely Fanugao and HTG-Margie’s Jun Sabalburo.

Saudi Tornado became the second team after D’Marvelous to win back-to-back honors thanks to the trio of Noel Marquez, Hakeem ibn Mosaad and Yaser Mohammad who drilled 877, 846 and 828 in that order.

The production of Hassan Al Anazi (635), Turki Al Essa (601), skipper Jiffry Bilal (222) and Hassan Al Sheikh (212) also helped Tornado gain the better pinfalls over their Team of the Week rivals.

Tony Tapayan, Ric Tugonon and Russel Lo were the other solid scorers for HTG-Margie at 835, 825 and 790.

There were 19 players who breached 800, among them, Mishari’s Elmer Penoso at 879, D’Invaders’s Ernie Quiambao at 877, William Ybay and Lito Briones of Okey Lang at 873 and 844, Fhel Ramos of D’ Marvelous at 843, Blue Blood’s Benjie Macatuno at 842, Rod Tagaban of Unlimited VI at 819, Jadawel’s Arnold Marchan at 818 and Schneider’s Oca Bernabe at 814.
