RIYADH, 12 March 2004 — Untouch-A-Bowl bowled their best thus far and clinched Team of the Week honors during the sixth week of the United Electronics Co (EXTRA) Tuesday Night Bowling League 4th Conference here Captained by Ming Barnachea, Untouch-A-Bowl trotted out the best figures of 26 points and total pinfalls of 3,447 in comprehensively beating Blue Blood.
Blue Blood tallied 17 points and total pinfalls of 3,197 in losing, but saved some face when Reny Dimapilis ruled the individual Bowler of the Week race by firing 877 on lines of 267, 157, 194, 199 and 60 handicap. RBC Patriots pulled farther away from the chasing pack with a clinical 24-17 triumph over Ara Bowlers on total pinfalls of 3,295 and 3,271.
Starstrucks also bowled solid to trounce Al Mishari Pinbusters 21-12 (3,097-3,019), while Xtreme OPS downed Top Gun 19-15 (3,205-3,101) and ABV RG clipped Snap Shots 4 17-14 (3,114-3,008) in the other matches in the four-man team event sponsored by United Electronics Co (EXTRA) through assistant marketing manager Ammar Issa.
KIA’s Pride carded 25 points and total pinfalls of 3,248 mainly on Lito Briones’s high series of 896 Jojo Miraflor was the most prolific player of Untouch-A-Bowl, hitting 872 Fidel Ferrer shot 819 and Arnold Marchan added 797 for Untouch-A-Bowl which distributed the rest of the games to Barnachea (525) and Eric Perez (434).
Cris Sibayan fired 821 to pace Starstrucks, who also drew 624 from Mikee Alcaraz, 410 from Gig Enriquez, 385 from Ed Reymundo, 334 from Ricky Talde, 179 from James Salva and 167 from Mar Reyes. With the exception of Mishari Pinbusters and Ara not a single team had more than three players in the top 15 of the individual standings.
Despite their defeat, the Pinbusters produced three players who broke 800 in Romy Duran with 842, Romy Zafe with 838 and Ding Balagtas with 819. Ara’s 800s were turned in by Freddie Aquino (846), Cas Encila (830) and Rod Tagaban (814).
