JEDDAH, 14 March 2004 — As Qatar Airways’ rapid expansion continues apace — the airline now flies to 50 destinations — it recently rewarded the Saudi agents that have done most to drum up business in the Western Province.

The airline says 2003 was “a very successful year,” according to a press statement.

Ahmed Al-Idrissi, the area manager, said this was mainly due to the dedication of its agents. The international independent airline monitor SKYTRAK has ranked Qatar cabin crew first in the Middle East and fifth in the world.

The airline has about 120 travel agents in the Western Province. The top agencies in terms of sales output are: Airwings Travel, Kanoo Travels, Saudi Tourist & Travel Bureau, Al-Jouf Travel, Al-Habbash Travel, Al-Rajhi Aviation, SM Attar Travel, Majed Travel, Al-Faisaliah Travel and Al-Tayyar Holidays. The top five cargo agents were Al-Mohsin Cargo, Farnas Cargo, Kanoo Cargo, Top Cargo and Alpha Cargo. The event was held at Ahlam Marina, Obhur.
