RIYADH, 19 March 2004 — A group of Muslims from the southern Philippines wants to establish a “center for business and livelihood training” here to train Saudis in blue-collar jobs.
The “Institute of Business Technology, Research and Livelihood Resources” is to provide training in 110 professions to Saudis.
It will “make them capable and highly-skilled to take up jobs under the Saudization program,” Mohammad A. Mua, who represents the group, told Arab News.
Training will include aqua farming, agribusiness, multimedia technology, electronics, and automotive technology.
Courses will take three or four hours in the evening. Initially, the funding for infrastructure, equipment and other expenses could come from various local organizations including the Human Resources Development Fund, the Saudi Fund for Development, and others, the organizers hope.
