JEDDAH, 22 March 2004 — Here’s a chance for OFWs in Jeddah who want to earn extra income.

On April 2, the Filipino Women Overseas Workers (Filwow) will conduct a seminar on massage and reflexology, free of charges as in its past workshops.

Dubbed “Langis at Tubig,” the seminar will be held at the International Philippine School in Jeddah (IPSJ), from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., said Filwow chair Evelyn Santos.

Participants will learn about general massaging techniques and the approximate location of reflex areas of the left and right hand as well as the left and right foot.

Santos said said “qualified reflexologists” would be conducting the seminar.

She said they group’s leaders thought of teaching reflexology not only because of its beneficial effects on the health but also as an alternative source of income.

“You may use this skill for your own personal use or to earn extra income,” said Santos, noting that the skill is very much in demand now.

Filwow had previously organized trainings on basic cosmetology and basic dress pattern making as part of its activities for the year.

The group will induct its officers for the year 2004-2005 during the reflexology seminar.
