RIYADH, 23 March 2004 — The security advisor and director general of guidance at the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Saud ibn Saleh Al-Musaibeeh, has denied a report published today by Al-Hayat newspaper (Issue no. 14,969) on its front page regarding the release of four Saudis from Guantanamo and the probability of their detention as soon as they arrive in the Kingdom. Al-Musaibeeh stressed the importance of verifying all such news before placing it into circulation. At the same time, he affirmed that the government of Saudi Arabia was exerting strenuous efforts to seek the release of those who are in detention in Guantanamo and to ensure their return home.
