The HVAC system has been detected as a main source for health problems such as infections, allergies and sinuses as it was found that air-conditioning systems are the breeding sites for bacteria, fungus and mold. To combat this problem, Carrier has introduced UV-C central air-conditioning system that uses ultra violet radiation to kill mold and bacteria before they get into the buildings.
The UV-C technology aids in enhancing the IAQ by eliminating objectionable odor named “dirty socks’ syndrome and provides occupants a healthy and hygienic air to breathe. It further reduces pressure drop across the coils, improves airflow, creates greater temperature differential and consequently improves the air-conditioning performance and saves substantial energy consumption.
