DOHA, 24 March 2004 — Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad ibn Khalifa Al-Thani appointed a new minister of municipal affairs and agriculture yesterday in a minor Cabinet reshuffle, the official QNA news agency announced.
Sultan Dossari, who was named by decree as the new minister, would soon take his oath of office before the emir, QNA said.
No reasons were given for the replacement of former minister Ali ibn Saad Al-Kawari, the agency said.
The last Cabinet reshuffle in Doha took place in December when Mohammed ibn Ahmad ibn Jassim Al-Thani was appointed as the new minister of economy and trade.
Meanwhile, the US embassy in Moscow denied yesterday that Washington had helped Qatar to arrest two Russian secret service agents on murder charges, as stated by a senior US diplomat the previous day.
