Now finally available to PC users around the world, HALO makes it debut on PC after its original release on the X-Box 2 years ago. Now with this new release PC users can see what all the hype was about on the X-Box. First of all, since the game is about 2 years old it will look like and plays like a 2 year old game. But thankfully the PC version is not a direct port from the X-Box, the game is in fact better than the X-Box version. The graphics (depending on your machine) are slightly better than the Box's version. The second part is the multiplayer aspect, with LAN you can play up to 16 players with no problem. You don't need 4 X-Boxes and 4 televisions to play with 16 people. In fact the multiplayer gaming options are better, with all the vehicles available for combat the PC version is a blast. But for me the best pat is I can play this great 1st person shooter without a stupid controller and I can use my Mouse and Keyboard.
For those of you who didn't play HALO because you don't own an X-Box, don't miss out HALO on PC. It is one of the best 1st person shooters around. You will have a blast playing against the computer or your friends. And for the guys who have an X-Box, if you have a great PC don't miss out on HALO even if you did finish it on the Box, the game was made for the PC.
When playing the campaign mode first thing you realize when fighting the enemy is how advanced the A.I. is. They all fight like strange Aliens. Taking over when you throw a grenade at their direction, working in teams to take you out, and it gets even tougher when you set the difficulty level higher. The friendly A.I. is at an advantage when compared to the brain dead A.I. of other games, but it still could have been improved to near perfection.
When moving around the levels the controls are very easy to get used to especially to 1st person shooter veterans. The graphics around in HALO are very good but still no match to games released even a year ago. Games like Max Payne 2 set the standards for graphics on the PC. But hey the game is more than 2 years old.
When it comes down to it, the game must be experienced by everybody, but when it comes down to how long you will be playing the game, my guess is not very long.
When newer games start getting released you will be saying good bye to HALO. The Score 8.2 (out of ten)
