JEDDAH, 26 March 2004 — The Gabay OFW Party List Western Region has taken all steps in preparing for the opening of the Seiko-Gabay OFW Filipino Basketball Friendship Games. This two-day match will feature the Jeddah all-stars basketball players and Riyadh all-stars selection.
“This will be a very big and exciting event, with the cast of the superstars of Jeddah and Riyadh. As usual, we are expecting 3,000 to 4,000 spectators who will come to watch this one of a kind basketball game”, said Ben Garcia, organizing committee chairman.
Games will be held at Ittihad Sport Club in Jeddah on April 1 and 2 at 7:00 p.m., Abdulrahman Al-Hussaini, president of Al-Hussaini & Co., is the tournament’s main sponsor. The Gabay OFW Party List Western Region will organize the tournament.
The Jeddah team is composed of Jong Rapada, Leo Almoite, Barry Nader, Dindo Garces, Diante Rivero, Arnold Bansil, Abril Mabarit, Omeng Sahagun, Richie Estrada, Alvin Serrano and John Gatchalian with their head coach Boy Corsega.
The Riyadh team members are Doy Nota, Rod Ayson, Rex Capati, Dave Ganƒka, Joel Diego, Jeff Baybay, Rey Gelilio, Dennis Ganƒka, Bernie Valencia and Peter Hernando with their head coach Bernie Valencia.
