JEDDAH, 27 March 2004 — The imams of the two holy mosques in Makkah and Madinah yesterday condemned the murder of Hamas leader Sheikh Ahmed Yassin and said it would only strengthen resistance against Israeli occupiers. “This vicious crime has shaken every Muslim,” Sheikh Osama Khayyat of the Grand Mosque said in his Friday sermon. “The assassination of Sheikh Yassin will stir the love of an honorable death in many hearts,” Sheikh Abdul Bari Al-Thubaity of the Prophet’s Mosque said.
