RIYADH, 6 April 2004 — A F-5 military aircraft of the Saudi Air Force crashed yesterday during an exercise in Taif, according to a Defense Ministry official.

The pilot, Capt. Badr Abdul Rahman Al-Mubarak, survived the crash, the cause of which was unknown, the official said.

He said the aircraft was part of the fleet stationed at King Fahd Air Base in Taif.
