Last week we had the review for MGS: The Twin Snakes, and soon enough we have to mention one of the most anticipated games of the year - Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Snake Eater is set in the jungle settings of the Vietnam War. The timeline is in the 60s and the main character looks a lot like a snake - one eyed.
Hopefully in the up coming E3 we will get a playable version of Metal Gear Solid 3. New features so far are the abilities to climb trees and ambush your enemy from above. Eating snakes, fish and what the jungle can provide so you don't starve to death. Shooting things like beehives and have them drop on unsuspecting guards. Holding your breath under water or using a pipe to breath under water, while hiding from soldiers or positioning your self for an ambush.
The biggest change in the element of the game play seems to be the jungle element. It will feel very different than the classic bad guy base. Then again the jungle could only be the first level and the rest of the game could be based on an underground bunker or something else. So far it's the only level that Konami has released and the truth will only be unveiled when the game is released.
When talking about MGS2 people will always split into 2 groups. Those who love MGS's action adventure gaming and cut scenes. And those who hate the twisted Story line and the truck full of strange demented characters.
So far there is no sign of strange characters or weird story line. But let's get down to what's really important; the graphics for the game look amazing. It's difficult to believe that PS2 can process such high graphics. Lets hope the game doesn't suffer from any slow downs.
So far this is the game to be waiting for this year, and let's hope when it's released it's up to our expectations.
