JEDDAH, 9 April 2004 — Seiko-Butler beat Saudi Diyar 75-73 for 3rd place in Seiko-JBL Basketball Tournament at the Bin Mafouz basketball court. Seiko-Butler managed to grab the momentum when Jun Arce unleashed a desperation jumper, reducing the lead to two points with 8 seconds remaining.
Seiko-Butler went to a quick foul play while Saudi Diyar did not score in the foul line. Arce led with 24 points for Seiko — Butler and was adjudged as the Seiko Player of the Game while Santos led Saudi Diyar with 23 points.
United Naghi-Philips Division defeated Salam Brothers 84-62 in game 1 of the best-of-three championship series. United Naghi-Philips division showed havoc in their offense. Dionisio had 18 points for United Naghi-Philips division and was adjudged as the Giordano Fashions player of the game while Joven Batuhan led with 19 points for Salam Brothers.
Salam Brothers beat Jeddah Graphics 74-63 in the game 1 of the best-of-three championship series in the inter-company division. Salam Brothers applied trapping defense in the dying minutes to halt the offense of Jeddah Graphics. Jameel Lumanog grabbed 24 points for Salam Brothers and was adjudged as the Seiko Player of the Game while Antonio scored 18 points for Jeddah Graphics.
King Fahd Armed Forces Hospital defeated Saudi German Hospital 67-59 for 3rd place in the inter-hospital division. Sierra led King Fahd Hospital with 27 points and was adjudged as the Seiko Player of the Game while Gamba scored 17 points for Saudi German Hospital.
ALJ Toyota XA beat Bakhsh Hospital/Al Zafer Cargo 82-70 in the game 1 of the best-of-three championship series for the inter-hospital division. ALJ Toyota XA proved very effective in their trapping defense. Gadingan led with 32 points for ALJ Toyota XA and was adjudged as the Seiko Player of the Game while Petaller scored 20 points for Bakhsh Hospital/Al Zafer Cargo.
