DAMMAM, 9 April 2004 — In the Swistar-sponsored DCA League tournament’s knockout stage played at DCA grounds in Dammam.
KCC Win Over Sceco C.C.: KCC elected to bat first and lost their first wicket at 14. Shihab took command of the innings hitting 83 runs. KCC set a target of 134 for 5.
In reply, Sceco were in deep trouble losing their first wicket for one Imran attempted to steer away from disaster but only Jawed was able to support him scoring a quick 23 runs. Imran stood unbeaten at 51. Sceco lost the match by 18 runs. Irfan took 3 wickets and Babloo 2.
Strikers C.C. Down Cresent C.C.: Crescent were bowled out for a lowly 93 runs in their 20 overs. Faiyaz and Shabbir captured 2 wickets each. In reply Strikers reached the target in 18 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. Musthakeem scored 20 and Sifan was on 25 not out. Ismail and Khalid took 2 wickets each.
Bridgestone C.C Defeat ACE Travels C.C.: Bridgestone winning the toss started their innings very poorly losing 5 wickets for 25.Then Sadiq mustered 53 runs. Bridgestone finished at 114 all out in 19 overs. Khalid grabbed 5 wickets and Naseem 2. In reply Ace Travels were bundled for 85 runs. Only Tariq and A. Quddus managed to score 18 runs each. Bridgestone won the match by 29 runs. Noufal took 3 wickets and Sajjad and Asif 2 wickets each.
Zamil Aircondition C.C. Lose to Friends XI C.C.: Zamil Aircondition elected to bat first and could manage to score only 99 runs in allotted 20 overs.
Only Dawood and Aleem contributed 24 and 16 runs respectively. Irfan captured 3 wickets and Zubair and Shareef 2 each. Friends XI marched to victory in 14 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Excellent batting came from Prakash 49 not out along with Praveen 24. Friends XI won by 7 wickets.
