Rani Cricket Club Gain Facile Victory Over Hyderabad Blues

DAMMAM, 9 April 2004 — In the EPCA Knockout Tournament, sponsored by ‘AGE Intrade Dubai’. Rani Cricket Club thrashed Hyderabad Blues by 215 runs. Batting first Rani C.C set the huge target of 346 for Hyderabad Blues. Amer Sajjad hit 119 off 57 balls only.

Ehtesham scored 54 run off 40 balls, Zafar Mohiuddin 42 off 32 balls. Hyderabad Blues’s Younus bowled well and took five wickets for 63 runs.

In reply, Hyderabad Blues C.C were bundled out for a mere 130 runs. Tanveer (37), Nasheed (36) and Taj (19) were the main contributors. Rani_s Muhammad Sadiq Rafiq 5 for 54 was the star of the show. He was well supported by Zafar Mohiuddin took two wickets for 20 runs.In another match, Adpco defeated Shaik Fayyaz Eleven by 27 runs.

Adpco made 198 for all out in 34.3 overs. Adpco were helped by Sohrab who scored 69 and Sajjad scored 54 runs. Irfan took four wickets for 35 and Ansar captured 3 for 37. In reply Shaikh Fayyaz Eleven were all out for 171 in 36 overs. Shafique scored 34 runs. Adpco’s Sampath claimed three wickets for 42 and Shakir took 2 for 22.

Kanoo, Close-Up, AGE and Imran’s Tigers Enter Semifinal Rounds.

In the premier division knockout matches, Close-Up won by two wickets over Natest cricket club. Natest put up a competitive 318 runs. Murtaza (49) and Kashif (44) added 102 runs for the first wicket partnership. Shahzad scored 56, Naved Butt scored 50. Asim Biag claimed five wickets for 69. In Close-Up reached the winning mark in the 38.3 overs. Inam made 83, which included 13 boundaries. Nadeem Butt’s unbeaten 62 contained 7 boundaries. Waheed Chaudry took three wickets for 59.

In another match, Kanoo defeated Imran’s Tigers by 56 runs. Kanoo scored 255 for the loss of 7 wickets. Iqbal Bali led the way with a blistering knock of 67, Munawar scored 52 and Qaiser 35. Raza Abbas and Talal Iqbal from Imran’s Tigers took three wickets each.

In reply Imran’s Tigers were all out for 199 runs. Top scorers were Raza Abbas (48) and Tahir Karamat (33). Kanoo’s Mejaz captured three wickets for 40 while Munawar took two wickets for 31.
