RIYADH, 12 April 2004 — The National Technology Group has unveiled what it boasts is the Arab world’s first multifunction card for Internet services, premium subscriptions and content.

NTG yesterday launched OneCard, a prepaid online card that allows users to access the most comprehensive portfolio of Internet connectivity, communication and mobile services, premium subscriptions and paid content from the Web.

NTG President Mohammed Al-Ballaa told a press conference the three-in-one card covered all prepaid services in the Saudi market, allowing the user to buy an Internet connection from any ISP (Internet Service Provider), accessibility to all prepaid telephone cards such as ALO and Salam for landline phone calls, as well as IP telephony cards that allow users to make international PC-to-phone calls.

“The Saudi market has more than 30 different prepaid card brands in mutiple denominations for various services such as ISPs, telephone, IP telephoy, SMS, marriage sites and stock trading. This creates a lot of inconvenience among customers. On the other hand, every service provider has to invest in a distribution mechanism to sell a separate card for his service, which distracts him from serving his customers and providing a quality service. OneCard provides an alternative payment mechanism to these service providers,” Al-Ballaa said.
