RIYADH, 30 April 2004 — Aspirant Lucky Shots team headed by Robert Romero and Fidel Ulan beat frontrunner DQ Hunks 3A 33-31 at the center court of the ongoing AFTP-Spring Cup 2004. D’Friends International group of Ace Espiritu and Ben Gonzales downed Hammerhead 46-30 to snap a losing streak in Division 1.
Vinnell Arabia 2 captained by Mario Flores and Rolly Biag with the support of their team members overpowered the Pathfinders 41-24. The Luzviminda team mentored by Herby Trazo continued their mastery over the Ball Thunder 40-27. D’Racqueteers A2 cruised past their opponent 48-24.
In Division 3 — D’Assassins headed by Benny Dela Cruz and Edgar Santos halted the Racqueteers-B 40-28 and the Solid Friends rallied past the Volleygators 42-39.
Mindanao’s Ranao Smashers of Mahmoud Sindab and Habib Batua scored a comeback 44-36 overtime win over the Tanmiah Strokers. D’Racqueteers CA of Lito Ladio and Carl Mosot advanced past the Falcons 48-26. This event, held at the Al Yamama Hotel Tennis Courts, is under the supervision of the Association of Filipino Tennis Players-Riyadh (AFTP).
