CAIRO, 10 May 2004 — Vodafone Egypt, part of Britain’s Vodafone Group PLC, more than doubled its 2003/4 net profit to 1.08 billion Egyptian pounds ($174 million) from 511 million pounds in 2002/3. Total revenues in the same period, to end-March 2004, rose to 3.29 billion pounds from 2.19 billion pounds in 2002/3, a company official told Reuters yesterday.
