RIYADH, 14 May 2004 — RBC Patriots have long had the lead, and they now have the Team of the Week award to match after a prodigious display during the sixth session of the LS Monday Night Bowling League 4th Conference at the Al Khozama Bowling Center.

The Patriots shot the week’s best of 14 points and total pinfalls of 3,783 in trouncing Pin Rockers who had been saddled by losses and checked in with a mere three points and total pinfalls of 3,579.

The previous week honoree Al Amera Int’l Cargo had its name changed to Carry Fast Cargo, but not their hot pace as they blanked So Much 12-0 on total pinfalls of 3,606 and 3,443.

Another cargo squad, Garnet Cargo, also did well against Vision 2, winning by 12-4 (3,684-3,539) and Pangasinan Strikers brought down ECR 10-7 (3,663-3,630) in the other matches in the five-man team tournament sponsored by Hotel Al Khozama through sport center manager Saeed Al Zahrani and Garnet Cargo through Jojo Paciano.

Ernie Quiambao sweetened the Patriots’ Team of the Week triumph by clinching the individual Bowler of the Week honors at 831 on lines of 167, 183, 223 and 178.

On the lanes it was Quiambao’s teammate and 5th Bowler of the Week Fernie Ballano who shot the high series of 858.

The others who contributed in the Patriots’s high-octane performance were Oca Bernabe with 752, captain Jett Cabana with 525, Rod Tagaban with 521, Benito Santos with 149 and Pido Villarosa with 147.

Pangasinan Strikers whose campaign is basically on and off used a six-man rotation with Ronald Bautista in the helm at 766. Yuli Braganza carded 753 to go with the 694 by Ave Tena, 585 by skipper Joey Maningas, 515 by Wilson Bacala and 350 by Johnny de Asis.

The five good men who carried the day for Garnet Cargo were Eddie Eder with 758, Nestor Ranido with 748, Billy Baladiong with 741, Willy de Mesa with 720 and captain Jojo Paciano with 717.

Roger Ortega fired 808 as the top scorer in Fast Carry’s seven-man rotation. Vic Marzo came thorugh with 726, skipper Fred Lim added 701, Nigel Bennett 489, Donjie Mapalad 351, Mario Rosal 350 and Bernie Magbag 181.
