RIYADH, 14 May 2004 — First round pennant winner Insektos were back in the limelight as they clinched Team of the Week honors during the 24th session of the Sabado Nights Bowling League 16th Conference at the Al Khozama Bowling Center here.

In winning their fourth team award, the Insektos put together the best output of 4,212 pinfalls off a 4-0 whitewash of T.J. Bowlers who tallied 3,687 pinfalls.

Going into the last few weeks of the long-drawn tournament the Insektos have work cut out for them if they were to crowd three-time defending champion and second round winner Stinger for the championship crown.

The Insektos, with a game in hand, are running second to the Stinger, who had been dragged to a 2-2 draw by R.M. & The Hotshots on total pinfalls of 3,648 and 3,681.

Snap Shots 3 whipped Xtra Pins 3-1 (4,031-3,644) and XTRM Fusion blanked Ball Innovations 4-0 (3,895-3,155) in the other matches in the five-man team league event sponsored by Restaurant Korean Palace.

Named Bowler of the Week was Snap Shots 3’s Napoleon Torres who rolled the high series of 889 on lines of 181, 162, 211 and 203.

Romy Zafe at 857 and Rod Tagaban at 848 were the ones who delivered the most stinging blows for the Insektos.

Elmer Penoso came up with 760, Rudy Usudan had 747 and Pido Villarosa added 707 in an effective five-man Insektos rotation.

Snap Shots 3 were also the beneficiary of such game plan. In addition to Torre’s 889, the Snap Shots 3 drew 754 from Remy Pantaleon, 748 from Gayner Elias, 729 from Roel Toledo and 716 from Johnny de Asis. The third best output-getter behind Insektos and Snap Shots 3, XTRM Fusion were paced by the trio of Ding Galvez (784), captain Cesar de Mesa (767) and Jett Cabana (749). The others who contributed were Aalex Bandoy with 594, Rodel Cansana with 344 and Bert Ambo with 254.
