RIYADH, 14 May 2004 — The inspired "A" Bowlers went near perfect on the way to their back-to-back Team of the Week award during the ninth session of the Pizza Inn Thursday Night Bowling League Second Conference.
"A" Bowlers trotted out 27 points, just two shy of the possible maximum score of 29, and total pinfalls of 4,132 in crushing Keglers Manila who made 14 points and total pinfalls of 3,801.
Kirotzky continued their impressive run of late, this time beating Dugong Bughaw 26-18 on total pinfalls of 4,055-3,881.
League leader D'Marvelous took a hit, the second in three weeks, from RBC Patriots at 22-13 on total pinfalls of 3,841-3,707.
That defeat, coupled by their 25-18 conquest of D'Young & Veterans, enabled X-tremes to close the gap at the top. X-tremes carded total pinfalls of 4,088 and DYV 3,960.
Bowlmates trounced Dink Fair "Sweater" 23-8 (3,829-3,464) in the other match in the five-man team league event. William Ybay of X-Tremes collared the Bowler of the Week award when he shot the high series of 894 on lines of 159, 184, 216, 211 and 124 handicap.
Getting sharper nearing the end of the first round, "A" Bowlers filled all but two boxes for win and bonus points for scores of 850, 900, 950 and 1,000 with games of 999, 1,072, 1,071 and 990.
Replicating his performance the previous week, captain Jett Cabana showed the way at "A" Bowlers with 883. Ernie Quiambao and Jomari de Luna duly gave him support with 829 and 823 respectively, while Manny Lebrilla rounded out the scoring at 784.
Kirotzky got a big lift from the trio of Nestor Tercio (848), Romy Zafe (826) and Ben Valdez (816).
The rest in the rotation namely Mar Viloria, Henry Pablo, Alex Paguila and Danny Francisco had contributions of 579, 429, 361 and 196 in that order.
Ybay's efforts at X-tremes were complemented by Lito Briones with 854, Raman Gurung with 839 and Leo Laudencia with 786. Edwin Pecson added 382 and Ed Rodriguez 333.
