JEDDAH, 29 October 2004 — Dr. Mohammed Aejaz is the new principal of Al Wurood International School. He succeeds Mary Thomas who headed the school for two-and-a-half years and received its affiliation to the CBSE during her tenure. The establishment of the preschool section and an activity-oriented system also marked her term.

A ceremony was recently held to welcome Dr. Aejaz that was presided by M.C. Sebastian, principal of Al Yasmin International School, Riyadh, and academic director for the PeeVees Group of Schools in the Kingdom.

He inducted the new principal and inspired him to lead on to the path of knowledge and quality education. Mohammed Ali, director for the PeeVees Group of Schools, felicitated Mary Thomas for her achievements in quality education and imparting leadership qualities.

Dr. Aejaz said the noblest contribution toward society was character building and emphasized punctuality, presence of mind and hard work. “There’s no substitute for hard work and diligence,” he said, adding that a student’s mind is like an umbrella, which works well when it is open. He dealt with three important steps that could lead a student to 100 percent success — knowledge, hard work and attitude.
