JEDDAH, 9 November 2004 — A senior bank employee in Taif tried to rob SR180,000 from his bank but police did not allow him to enjoy the money for long. The employee called police after breaking into the bank’s safe and damaging the interior to give the impression that a burglar had broken into the bank and run away with the money. Investigators suspected the employee when they found that the bank’s outside door was not broken and the man was holding its key. The man later admitted that he had given the money to an Arab worker. Police also arrested two other individuals involved in the robbery and returned the money to the bank. Police are still investigating the employee and his two accomplices, Al-Riyadh reported.
