JEDDAH, 10 November 2004 — Lebanese singer Rami Ayyash left his fans in shock when he disclosed in a television interview that he is suffering from cancer. Ayyash’s fans also criticized the presenter of the “Maestro” program for using the program to deliver a scoop. They said Nishan, the interviewer, exploited the singer’s condition just to gain a scoop. During the interview, Nishan sprang it to Ayyash whether he was suffering from the malignant disease. The singer hinted by a nod of his head that he was. The interviewer then pressed on with a direct question: Do you suffer from cancer? Ayyash admitted that he was. Nishan’s pleasure in forcing the singer to admit that he is suffering from cancer, without asking any further questions did not go down well with the admirers of the singer, Al-Watan reported.
