IRVING, Texas, 17 November 2004 — Donovan McNabb threw four touchdown passes, three to Terrell Owens, and the Philadelphia Eagles bounced back from their first loss of the American football season by routing Dallas 49-21 here Monday.

The Eagles matched Pittsburgh and reigning Super Bowl champion New England at a National Football League-best 8-1, taking out their frustrations from last week’s 27-3 loss to Pittsburgh on the struggling Cowboys.

No Dallas squad had ever allowed so many points to an opponent in a home game.

McNabb hooked up with Owens on a 59-yard touchdown in the first quarter to open the scoring before the pair connected for a 27-yard touchdown in the second quarter to give the Eagles a 21-7 lead.

Owens, who had 134 yards on six receptions, hauled in his NFL-leading 12th touchdown of the season 8:56 into the third quarter for his first three-touchdown game since the season opener against the New York Giants.

McNabb was 15-of-28 for 345 yards as the Eagles improved to 23-7 against NFC East Division rivals over the past five seasons.

Todd Pinkston caught a 59-yard touchdown pass, Dorsey Levens and Brian Westbrook ran for short scores and cornerback Lito Sheppard capped the scoring with a 101-yard interception return for Philadelphia.

Tight end Jason Witten had nine catches for 133 yards and two touchdowns for the Cowboys, who fell to 3-6.

Bears’ Urlacher Sidelined With Leg Injury

In Lake Forest, Ill., Chicago Bears Pro Bowl linebacker Brian Urlacher is expected to be sidelined four-to-six weeks because of a lower left leg injury.

Urlacher hurt the leg during Sunday’s 19-17 overtime win at Tennessee and underwent surgery Monday morning after some internal bleeding was discovered in the area of the injury. The 26-year-old Urlacher was taken by Chicago with the ninth overall pick of the 2000 NFL Draft. He had started 64 straight regular-season contests since becoming starting middle linebacker in the third week of the 2000 campaign.

However, he aggravated a hamstring injury during practice and was forced to sit out games on Sept. 26 versus Minnesota and Oct. 3 against Philadelphia. He originally suffered a right hamstring pull on July 28, the first day of practice at training camp, and missed all four preseason contests. Urlacher, a Pro Bowl selection in each of his first four years, has totaled 56 tackles, including 42 solo, and four sacks in seven games this season.
