JEDDAH, 22 November 2004 — Saudi Arabia has increased state subsidy for barley from SR150 to SR200 per ton, Agriculture Minister Dr. Fahd Balghaneim announced yesterday. The minister commended the gesture by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd in favor of cattle breeders. The Kingdom paid earlier this year SR3.95 billion to wheat and barley farmers in arrears for their supplies in the 1421H and 1422H seasons.
