MANAMA, 24 November 2004 — Bahrain police have seized 350 kg (772 pounds) of hashish and arrested six people, a security official was quoted as saying yesterday.
Col. Farouk Al-Mouawda told local newspapers that the drugs were netted in two separate raids in suburbs of the capital Manama. He did not say when the raids took place or specify the nationalities of those arrested.
The Bahrain Tribune newspaper said the haul was believed to be the largest in the island state.
