JEDDAH, 24 November 2004 — It is all about principle or is it principal. A girls’ school principal in Taif is in a bit of a spot because she bent the rules to suit her purpose. The principal sent the teachers and service staff out of school in preparation for the “royal” visit of her husband during working hours, Al-Madinah Arabic daily reported. The husband was taken to her office for the singular purpose of redesigning it. Both were discussing ideas of possible changes while the teachers and the staff were cooling their heels outside. When the parents came to know about the principal’s action they criticized her while also accusing her for violating the rights of the female teachers. According to the paper, the teachers have already lodged a complaint against the principal to the director of education in Taif.
