JEDDAH, 7 December 2004 — The number of foreign workers recruited by Saudi companies dropped by 38 percent in the last three months to 98,531 from 160,493 during the same period last year, according to Dr. Abdul Wahid Al-Humaid, deputy labor minister for planning and development. The drop was 68.71 percent in the recruitment of production workers and 15.86 percent in service personnel.
