JEDDAH, 9 December 2004 — The next time someone asks you about an address or location of an individual, make sure it’s a genuine case. Otherwise, you may fall victim to the designs of unscrupulous elements.
Muhammad Faisal, 35, returned home after work at the Al-Faisaliah Service Center (formerly Sony) in Faisaliah district around 9:20 p.m. on Sunday. After parking his car, he was approaching the steps of the building in which he resides when three teenagers drove their car toward him. The youths, dressed in jeans and T-shirts, asked him whether one Sultan stayed there. Just when Faisal pleaded ignorant of such an individual, one of the three youths turned Faisal’s attention toward another building indicating that Sultan possibly stayed in that building.
As Faisal turned toward the main door of his building, the three caught hold of him and punched him in his left eye and chin. Faisal fell unconscious. After a few minutes he regained consciousness only to find that the three guys had relieved him of all his belongings kept in the shirt pocket and the hip pocket.
“I lost everything — iqama, rukhsa, isthimara, rukhsa insurance card, bank ATM card, SR1,500 and mobile,” Faisal, who hails from Malappuram district of southern Indian state of Kerala, told Arab News.
Faisal said police were summoned to the spot after he informed his friend and they took him to King Fahd Hospital where doctors treated his chin with stitches and his blackened left eye.
Faisal, who resides with his wife and two children, has been in the Kingdom for more than 12 years.
