RIYADH, 9 December 2004 — For long in the sidelines as mere participant Al Jawal broke new ground as Team of the Week during the 14th week of the Al Safi Danone Tuesday Night Bowling League 5th Conference.
The bye team in action, Al Jawal cashed in on the opportunity to hit the best score of 23 points and total pinfalls of 3,112.
Cas 36 fell short by one, trottting out 22 points and total pinfalls of 3,118 in crushing D’Maverick which had a mere four points and total pinfalls of 2,706.
Tournament leader “4 Life Team” hammered out a 21-12 triumph over 2-Xtremez on total pinfalls of 3,116 and 3,003, while X Channel GMA 7 distinguished themselves as the producer of Bowler of the Week and top output-getter.
X Channel GMA 7 carded total pinfalls of 3,236 including the high series of 935 by Bowler of the Week Arnold de la Cruz in a 20-18 win over RBC Patriots who compiled total pinfalls of 3,197.
ABV RG silenced Top Gun II 20-18 (3,180-3,181) and Carry Dot Fast downed Ten Pin de Sarapen 19-16 (3,134-3,113) in the other matches in the the four-man team league sponsored by Al Safi Danone through Central Region Merchandising Manager Elie Hoyek and Merchandising Team Leader Jun Carlos.
Skipper Remie Larano led by example at Al Jawal hitting the top tally of 855. Three others namely Gani Buen, Rodgie Ortigas and Jeff Jimenez completed Jawal’s fluent four-man display with rounds of 789, 736 and 732 in that order.
Besides De La Cruz, the others who contributed toward GMA 7’s big total pinfalls were Jess Frias with 807, Medel Pantoja with 769 and Nelson Respicio with 725.
Cas Encila reprised at Cas 36 what Larano did at Jawal when he shot a leading four-game series of 787 to go with the 782 by Saud Egil, 733 by Boy Mirando, 454 by Dennis Dedicatoria and 362 by Rey Andaya.
The week’s 800-series scorers include Elmer Penoso with 895, Fhel Ramos with 859, Mudz Daiz with 853, Ed Dalisay with 830, Jett Cabana with 820, Tony Vicario with 817, Benjie Macatuno with 805, William Ybay with 804, Danny Gonzales with 803 and Eric Perez with 800.
