CHICAGO, 9 December 2004 — The Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago (CIOGC) will hold their 12th annual Community dinner on Sunday, Dec. 12 at the Chicago Marriott at 6.00 p.m.
World renowned contemporary American scholar of Islam Dr. John L. Esposito is the featured guest. Georgetown professor of Religion & International Affairs and Islamic Studies, Dr. John is the author of "The Islamic Threat: Myth and Reality" and "Unholy War: Terror in the Name of Islam". He will speak on "Faith and Opportunity: The Future of Islam in America."
CIOGC will also present Excellence Awards at the function. Tickets for adults $50 and for children (12 and under) $25.
