NEW YORK, 10 December 2004 — Eddie Griffin scored a career-high 27 points and Latrell Sprewell returned from suspension to score 24 as Minnesota clobbered the Philadelphia 76ers 119-84 in National Basketball Association game on Wednesday.

Kevin Garnett had 19 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in just 31 minutes for the Timberwolves, who have won six of their last seven games.

Minnesota was never in trouble, leading 61-48 at the half before a 12-0 run early in the third quarter put the game out of reach.

Sprewell was playing his first game since sitting out a one-game suspension for yelling a vulgarity at a female fan in Los Angeles Saturday night. He shot 9-for-14, including 5-for-8 from 3-point range.

Wally Szczerbiak added 12 points for the T-Wolves, who scored at least 29 points in every quarter while shooting 49.4 percent.

Andre Iguodala had 18 points to lead the Sixers, while Marc Jackson had 16 as Philadelphia lost its sixth straight game.

In San Antonio, Ray Allen scored 29 points as the Seattle SuperSonics ended San Antonio’s 21-game home winning streak with a 102-96 win over the Spurs. The Spurs (16-4) saw their eight-game winning streak snapped while the Sonics (16-3) won for the seventh time in eight games.

In Washington, Andre Miller had a season-high 34 points, eight rebounds and eight assists as the Denver Nuggets edged the Wizards 111-105. Carmelo Anthony added 23 points and Marcus Camby had 16 points and nine rebounds for the Nuggets, who are on the first game of a seven-game road trip.

In Auburn Hills, Richard Hamilton had 19 points, including six in overtime, as the Detroit Pistons beat the Toronto Raptors 90-86.

Rasheed Wallace added 16 points for the Pistons, while Ben Wallace added 15 points and 16 rebounds as Detroit improved to 10-9.

Donyell Marshall had 22 points to lead the Raptors, who lost Vince Carter with a leg injury in the opening minute of the second half.

In New Orleans, Stephon Marbury had 22 points and nine assists to lead the New York Knicks past the Hornets 86-79. Kurt Thomas had 15 points and 15 rebounds for New York, which snapped a three-game losing streak.

In Atlanta, Pau Gasol scored 24 points as the Memphis Grizzlies beat the Hawks 97-89.

Mike Miller and Stromile Swift both had 13 points for the Grizzlies, who are 3-1 under new coach Mike Fratello.

Antoine Walker had 31 points for the Hawks, who have lost 10 of their last 11.

In Milwaukee, Udonis Haslem had 20 points and 13 rebounds as the Miami Heat rallied to edge the Bucks 101-96. Shaquille O’Neal added 18 points for the Heat. Desmond Mason led Milwaukee with 19 points.

In Chicago, Ben Gordon scored 21 points as the Bulls upset the Cleveland Cavaliers 113-85. Eddy Curry added 20 points and nine rebounds for the Bulls, who recorded their most lop-sided win of the season against the Eastern Conference leading Cavaliers.

LeBron James led Cleveland with 19 points.

In Salt Lake City, Cuttino Mobley scored 26 points as the Orlando Magic beat the Utah Jazz 106-100. Steve Francis added 20 points for Orlando. Carlos Boozer had 29 points and 12 rebounds for the Jazz, losers of six straight.

In Los Angeles, Quentin Richardson scored 21 points and hit the game-winning 3-pointer with 6.9 seconds left as the Phoenix Suns rallied to beat the Lakers 113-110.

Kobe Bryant had a triple-double for L.A. — 20 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists.
