JEDDAH, 11 December 2004 — Al-Hilal of Riyadh hammered out a crucial three sets to one victory over Al-Ahli of Jeddah in the Saudi Volleyball Tournament at the Youth Welfare Presidency Hall here.

The set scores were 25-27, 25-21, 27-25, 25-19 for Hilal which dragged Ahli to an all-important match for the title after the two teams tied on 14 points at the end of the home-and-way matches among the 10 teams.

With 12 points from 7 matches at the start of the game, Hilal played heads-up volleyball to take the measure of Ahli. Momentum is now expected to be on the side of Hilal when they face Ahli in the return match which will determine the new Kingdom volleyball championl . Ahli won the slide two tiebreaker over Hilal after both times tied at 24-24 in the first set.

Hilal, however, got into the groove of things to win the next three sets and the best-of-five match. Ahli and Hilal tied 14 points each and Ahli on first rank because of sits differences.
