JEDDAH, 12 December 2004 — The Indian Doctors, Engineers, Architects and Accountants Society (IDEAS), which started with only two members in 2002, has grown into an organization with many Indian professionals from among expatriates joining it. The society claims many achievements to its credit, including two NRI conventions and festivals.
Its executive committee elected a new team of office-bearers at a meeting held here on Friday night. The meeting elected Dr. Mohammed Iqbal Musani (Maharashtra) as president. The others elected include Mohan Kumar (Kerala) as vice president, Danish Abdul Gafoor (Delhi) and Mohammed Samiullah (Tamil Nadu) as associate vice presidents, and Mohammed Abdul Muneeb (Andhra Pradesh) as general secretary.
The others include joint secretary Sayed Amir Basha, Dr. Shafiuddin and Khursheed, both associate joint secretaries, finance secretary Firoz Bhai, PR secretary Ajay Rattan, media secretary Sadiq Hussain and literary secretary Amena Syed. Its new executive members include Dr. Iqbal Pasha, Afsar Ustaz, Jameel Sayeed, and Dr. Meer Ather Ali, Yusuf Yazdani, Dr. Shuja Rahimi Makkah and Habeeb Pitlam Makkah.
Its founder director Khaja Quadeer Anwar said he had been chosen as a panelist speaker on Gulf NRI issues at the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) 2005 being organized jointly by the Ministry of External Affairs and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industries in Bombay from Jan. 7-9.
Two other IDEAS’ members — O.P. Ramon Kutty and Mohammed Abdul Muneeb are joining Anwar to the PBD event as delegates.
